Kandy trip--Peradeniya Royal Botanic Gardens
Admission: 3000 LKR 🕰️ Timings: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM 🐾 Location: About 5.5 kilometers west of Kandy in Peradeniya, close to the Mahaweli River 🚗 Transportation: Take a bus 🚞 from Kandy or rent a car to get there 🌲 Size: The botanical garden houses over 4000 species of plants, with ten thousand individual plants and trees ⭐ Rare Plants: 1️⃣ Banyan Tree (Ficus benjamina): This type of tree has a very large and complex canopy, with aerial roots hanging down from the branches, creating a spectacular sight. Their canopies cover a vast area, providing dense shade, making it a great spot to cool off from the sun. Those who fear sunburn are in luck 🥰. 2️⃣ Talipot Palm (Corypha umbraculifera): This palm tree has extremely large, fan-shaped leaves, with each leaf covering an area of up to 15 square meters. Unfortunately, these trees die after flowering. 3️⃣ Orchids: There is a dedicated orchid garden within the botanical garden, featuring a multitude of rare and beautiful orchid species, a paradise for orchid enthusiasts. 4️⃣ Giant Water Lily (Victoria amazonica): The circular leaves of this water lily are enormous, with a diameter that can reach up to 3 meters. What's particularly special is that their flowers bloom at night, and their color changes from white to pink 😁. ⭐ Tips: ✨It is recommended to go early in the morning, as the sun 🌞 gets very strong at noon. ✨High heels 👠 are not advised, as they can be uncomfortable to walk in. 🌈Remember to apply sunscreen, as the sun 🌞 is really harsh. 🌈Bring mosquito repellent 🌫️ to avoid getting bitten. ❗Do not pick any flowers, plants, or trees; protect the garden's environment. #Kandy#Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya#Sri lanka trip#Sri lanka#trip diary#travel guide#Sri lanka life
