Kandy trip--Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic

📍 Location Starting from Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, it takes about three hours by car to reach Kandy city, where the Temple of the Tooth is located in the city center. The entrance is on the West Gate, surrounded by a moat that creates a tranquil environment. 🕘 Opening Hours and Admission Opening Hours: 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Admission: Foreign visitors are charged 2000 Sri Lankan Rupees, which includes admission to the World Buddhist Museum within the temple complex. (Tickets can be purchased from self-service machines at the entrance, which also give change.) There is no shoe storage fee, photography fee, and no mandatory donations. 🏺 Inner Chamber and Golden Pagoda The temple is divided into two levels, housing the Buddha's hall, drum hall, long hall, chanting hall, treasury, inner chamber, and more. ✨The most important part is the inner chamber where the Buddha's tooth is enshrined, which contains a seven-tiered golden pagoda. Inside the pagoda, there are treasures offered by Buddhists from various countries. Ultimately, the Buddha's tooth is placed in the innermost small golden pagoda, which is the core of the entire temple. There is a floor entirely filled with people chanting scriptures. Locals offer flowers at the Buddhist altar and then sit aside to start chanting. Men sit cross-legged, while women sit with their legs folded to the side. 🌸 Offering Flowers 🌈There are many stalls in front of the temple selling lotus and jasmine flowers for offering. Visitors should leave some money when they take the lotus flowers; the amount depends on individual circumstances. ✨Note!
