Kappo Sono in New York ๐ŸŒŸ

๐ŸฃI finally visited the much-coveted Kappo Sono at the end of September! ๐ŸŽ‰ Booking a table on Resy was surprisingly easyโ€”I just booked about four or five days in advance. The restaurant sends a text message the day before to ask if there are any ingredients you don't eat. ๐ŸฃIf you have any dislikes, just let them know, and the chef will adjust the menu accordingly. ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ The first dish, a creamy and rich abalone porridge, was particularly memorable. The matsutake rice later in the meal was also fantastic! ๐Ÿฒ For the main course, you can choose between grilled eel or wagyu beef tongue (personally, I wasn't a big fan of the beef tongue; it was a bit too thick for my taste). ๐Ÿ– The dessert, brown butter ice cream, was really good! ๐Ÿจ ๐ŸฃThe price is $350 per person, excluding tax and tip, and without wine pairing. The full menu is in the last picture. ๐Ÿ“ธ The chef is quite charming; he introduces each dish as his favorite. ๐Ÿ˜Š #NewYorkJapanese Cuisine ๐ŸŒ‡๐Ÿฃ
