Kappo Sono in New York ๐
๐ฃI finally visited the much-coveted Kappo Sono at the end of September! ๐ Booking a table on Resy was surprisingly easyโI just booked about four or five days in advance. The restaurant sends a text message the day before to ask if there are any ingredients you don't eat. ๐ฃIf you have any dislikes, just let them know, and the chef will adjust the menu accordingly. ๐ฝ๏ธ The first dish, a creamy and rich abalone porridge, was particularly memorable. The matsutake rice later in the meal was also fantastic! ๐ฒ For the main course, you can choose between grilled eel or wagyu beef tongue (personally, I wasn't a big fan of the beef tongue; it was a bit too thick for my taste). ๐ The dessert, brown butter ice cream, was really good! ๐จ ๐ฃThe price is $350 per person, excluding tax and tip, and without wine pairing. The full menu is in the last picture. ๐ธ The chef is quite charming; he introduces each dish as his favorite. ๐ #NewYorkJapanese Cuisine ๐๐ฃ
