The bar area is lively and a bit noisy, but the space feels cozy and authentic. You can also choose to sit outside! 🪑✨ Appetizers: 🦪 Char-grilled Oysters – $18 You can’t visit NOLA without trying oysters! Since my family isn’t big on raw oysters, we went for the grilled version—a house specialty! Today’s special: 12 oysters for $18. 🦪🔥 The garlic and herb sauce was aromatic and rich, though the oysters shrink a bit when grilled. Eating them alone can be salty—better with a piece of baguette to soak up that tasty sauce! 🥖💦 🍄 Seafood Mushrooms – $15 Recommended by our server—a pleasant surprise! Mushrooms stuffed with minced meat and shrimp, topped with melted cheese. Baked to perfection with a lovely creamy-seafood balance. Served with two slices of bread. 🧀🍤 🍕 Boudreaux Pizza – $24 Thin, crispy crust topped with shrimp, roasted pork, spinach, garlic, onion, cheese, and a signature NOLA-style sauce—a crowd-pleaser for all ages! 👨👩👧👦🍅 🧅 Onion Rings – $11 Crispy outside, sweet inside—tasty on their own but quite salty with sauce. Eat them while they’re hot! 🔥⏳ Main Course: 🍖 Blackberry & Jalapeño Ribs – $25 (half rack) Comes with two sides—we chose sweet potato fries and grilled veggies (zucchini arrived, and it was delicious!). The sweet potato fries were our favorite! 🍠❤️ The ribs were tender, fall-off-the-bone, pre-braised and glazed with a sweet-spicy sauce. Generous portion and full of flavor! 🍰 Birthday Dessert – Free! 🎉 No birthday discount, but the server kindly brought us a complimentary dessert when they found out we were celebrating. Classic American-style—super sweet, but the kids loved it! 🎂😋 Summary: Katie’s is a hearty, flavorful, and warmly inviting neighborhood restaurant.
