Kawagoe | A 30-Minute Trip from Tokyo to the Edo Period (2)π
Some Attraction Recommendations: π π Taisho Roman Yume-do is highly recommended from March to May, when the streets are adorned with carp streamers, making for some great photo opportunities! π π Kumano Shrine is a small shrine β©οΈ located right at the entrance of Yume-do, so you can easily visit it while exploring the area. πΏ π Hikawa Shrine has an ema tunnel all year round, and if you visit in the summer, you'll also find a wind chime tunnel. Both are very picturesque, so make sure to include them in your itinerary. πΈ π It's advisable to purchase the Kawagoe Discount Pass at the Tobu Tourist Center in Ikebukuro, which includes round-trip train fare between Ikebukuro and Kawagoe, as well as bus rides within Kawagoe. It offers good value for money. π« Transportation and Costs π° π’πAs mentioned earlier, you can buy a discount package in Ikebukuro. Both Tobu and Seibu offer them, so you can choose according to your needs. I used the Tobu package this time, which costs 1050 yen and includes round-trip train fare between Ikebukuro and Kawagoe, as well as bus rides within Kawagoe. π’π It takes just over half an hour to get from Ikebukuro to Kawagoe. The pass itself is a collectible souvenir with a Japanese yukata design, not just a plain ticket. π #Kawagoe #LittleEdoKawagoe #KawagoeHikawaShrine ππ
