NYBG just announced exciting news about its upcoming shows within the next two years, including a KAWS takeover set for 2027 . The limited-time show will blend his groundbreaking work against the Garden’s natural elements across 250 acres. “NYBG is proud to support the work of leading contemporary artists like KAWS” said Jennifer Bernstein, CEO and The William C. Steere Sr. President of the New York Botanical Garden. “Our exhibitions illuminate the rich intersection of art and nature, offering visitors new, creative ways to immerse themselves in beautiful botanical experiences, to deepen their appreciation for visual art and design, and to explore the wonders of nature.” Who is KAWS? ------------ KAWS, otherwise known as Brian Donnelly, is a Brooklyn-based American artist and designer who first got his start as a graffiti artist in the 90s. He’s most famous for his vibrant reimagining of pop culture icons and his signature “Companion” character. He works in large-scale sculptures, murals and paintings. How do I get tickets? --------------------- It’s currently unclear whether admission to the KAWS exhibition will be included in general entry to the Garden or if there will be special ticketing like there was for Yayoi Kusama’s *KUSAMA: Cosmic Nature* show in 2021. However, NYBG just launched its two-year membership for unlimited visits to the Garden and Member access to all of the exciting shows coming in the next two years, including *KAWS* (2027).
