Keynes {Agincourt Great Barrier Reef Day Tour} 🌊 Lots of Photos
If you love the ocean, then a trip to Australia must include a visit to Cairns! ✨✨ Cairns is actually a very small city. People go there mainly to take boats to the nearby islands or the Great Barrier Reef, as there are no accommodations on the islands or reefs. 🛏️ Many choose Green Island because it’s the most famous and offers some land to explore. However, it’s not the most fun option—it’s crowded, and the underwater environment isn’t as pristine as other reefs. The coral isn’t as vibrant or intact. Still, it might be a good choice if traveling with elderly or young children. I Chose Agincourt Reef—Boat There, Helicopter Back 🚁 Agincourt is an outer reef, so the environment is spectacular. The coral is stunning, colorful, and well-preserved. 💗💗💗 There are tons of fish, including some huge ones! 🐟 Boat round-trip – Cheapest (Not recommended. The 1+ hour boat ride is boring and can make you seasick.) Boat there, helicopter back – Saves time, and you can explore Cairns afterward. Helicopter there, boat back – Lets you sleep in a bit. Boat round-trip + 15-min helicopter ride – Cost-effective (Not recommended. The helicopter queue eats into your reef time.) Once on board, you can book extra activities (snorkeling, introductory scuba diving, certified diving, helmet diving, underwater observatory, helicopter tours). My cousin and I chose introductory scuba diving 🐟 (around $160 AUD per person). A professional instructor teaches you the basics before arrival. I expected a small island, but it was just a large floating pontoon. After docking, everyone changes and grabs gear. Diving is a MUST! The underwater world is breathtaking—far beyond what snorkeling or helmet diving can offer. Scuba diving isn’t scary at all. The instructors are extremely professional and cautious—they’re more worried about accidents than you are! 😂 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊 You get about 3 hours at the reef, so plan wisely. My cousin and I dove twice (second dive was half-price!). Then, we took the helicopter back—the view was unreal and not scary at all! Even my sister-in-law, who has a fear of heights, was fine with her 3-year-old. 🚁 SUNSCREEN IS A MUST! ☀️☀️ Use waterproof sunscreen and apply A LOT. Don’t expect to avoid a tan—just avoid burns! #Cairns #CairnsTravel #CairnsGuide #Australia
