Kingston’s Spanish Restaurant: Tango Nuevo
We passed through Kingston during our Thousand Islands trip and stopped by this hidden gem—Tango Nuevo! It’s a Spanish restaurant in downtown Kingston with a lovely vibe and attentive service, perfect for dates 💕. 🌟 Foie Gras Pinxto 🐦 | 5/5 Layers of cheese on top, foie gras in the middle, and bread at the bottom. The whole dish has a hint of sweetness. The foie gras isn’t like a smooth pâté; it has a slight meaty texture, which is delightful. Absolutely delicious! 👌 Watermelon Fattoosh 🍉 | 3.5/5 This dish is unique and creative! It’s made with watermelon and other toppings wrapped in cheese, tossed in a vinegar dressing. The taste is fresh but quite unusual—an interesting twist! 🌟 Scallops 🐚 | 4.5/5 So many people recommended these, and they didn’t disappoint! Super fresh and tender, but the portion is small for the price. Still, a must-try! 🌟 Striploin Steak 🥩 | 5/5 We ordered it medium rare, and it was perfect. The outer layer is crispy and charred, while the inside is juicy and tender—so flavorful! 🌟 Carne Picante 🌮 | 5/5 It’s a bit like Zibo barbecue (from what I’ve seen, since I haven’t tried the real thing)! Slightly spicy, but the heat is just right even for someone who doesn’t handle spice well. It brings out the grilled meat’s aroma beautifully. Use the skewer to pick up the beef, dip the tortilla in sauce, and slide the meat onto it—so tasty! 🌟 Sambal Shrimp 🦐 | 4/5 A classic garlic shrimp dish. The shrimp are tender (not overcooked like when I make them at home) and delicious with the sauce, especially when mopped up with bread. 🌟 Pro tip: They offer free bread and butter, but you have to ask the server for it! Overall, the food is fantastic. Three of us spent around $250. The only downside is that portions (except the steak) are small—servers recommend 2-3 dishes per person. If you’re looking to fill up, maybe try another spot, but for quality and ambiance, this is great! 📍 Tango Nuevo 331 King St E, Kingston, ON K7L 3B5 #FoodExploration #FoodShare #DateNightSpot #HiddenGemRestaurant #Toronto #Kingston #TorontoSurroundings #TorontoDayTrips #SpanishRestaurant #FoodieLife 🍷
