While on a business trip in Slovakia, I spent two nights in Košice. After wrapping up work, I hopped on a Bolt scooter for an impromptu city run — and what a ride it turned out to be! 🛴 The Great Scooter Conundrum Cost: €13 for 130 minutes, but the catch? Strict zone limits. Zoning rules: Yellow areas meant speed reductions, red zones triggered instant snail’s pace. Venture outside the marked grid, and the scooter crawls like a turtle 🐌. Silver lining: A tiny unmarked corner on the map piqued my curiosity. Turned out to be a hidden paradise! 🌉 Riverside Revelation: When Serendipity Strikes The riverfront here is straight out of a postcard. Across the water? What looked like a ritzy neighborhood, with a lake nearby that’s pure zen. As the sun set 🌇, I plopped down by the lake — time legit slowed down. And the lake activities? Mind blown! Locals were doing this wild thing: wakeboarding on a rectangular track, pulled by a rope that lets them circle the lake 🏄‍♂️. Never seen that in China! One dude was killing it, so I snapped pics — total pro move. 🏛️ Downtown in a Nutshell Architecture: Charming old buildings, perfect for a 1-2 hour stroll. Food & prices: Decent eats without Western Europe’s eye-watering tags. Weather whiplash: Scorching days, frigid nights — pack layers!
