Ktown NYC 🐈 — Where to Eat, Drink & Chill

Walking around Koreatown at night, I realized even the streetlights here give off such a cool, moody vibe — no filter needed! 📸✨ Here’s a roundup of my recent Ktown visits, from cozy spots to stylish bars: 🍹 The Parlour Room A surprisingly spacious bar in the heart of Ktown — no reservation needed, plenty of seating. The retro decor and relaxed atmosphere make it perfect for whiskey nights. 🥃 🍽️ Joo Ok Went earlier this year before they earned their second Michelin star. The menu felt creative and playful, and the space has a warm, family-style vibe. Wondering if it’s worth revisiting post-menu refresh… 🍚: Moono Their uni rice was decent, but the real star was the beef hot pot! Pro tip: ask them not to mix the uni bowl — you’ll taste the sea urchin better. The soybean powder and sashimi salad sounds weird but was tangy, spicy, and refreshing! Also, relatively easy to book. 🥘 HOJOKBAN A newer spot where you can order blindly and still enjoy. The braised beef short ribs weren’t too sweet or heavy, and the makgeolli shaved ice dessert was uniquely smooth and delicious. 🍧 🍲 Take31 Perfect for a snowy day in NYC. Cozy, comforting Korean dishes that won’t leave you thirsty afterward — just warm and satisfied. 🍜 Tosokchon Korean comfort food done right. Tender stewed beef tendon with a clean, almost Cantonese-style simplicity. ⭐ Ai Fiori Pretty setting but… underwhelming. Felt like they’re resting on past reputation post-Michelin star loss. Safe but forgettable. 🔥 Mt. ShooTao Hot Pot My first hot pot in NYC after two years — and it hit the spot! Broth wasn’t overly salty or artificial, great selection, and yes, the beef tendon was soft and flavorful. A solid choice in Manhattan. Other Mentions (no pics, but notes!): Osamil Upstairs: More refined vibe than downstairs, drinks are great — book ahead! Barbam: Strong, Asian-inspired cocktails — worth trying. MUI: Gives off Hongdae vibes — friends rave about their spicy chicken feet! One unnamed basement spot was a total miss… so bad my Canadian friends went silent. I’ll update if I remember the name! 😅 Ktown always has something new (and delicious) to discover.
