This is a small, enchanting Thai temple. The entrance faces a grand hall, and to the side, a narrow path leads to a courtyard where you can see roosters 🐓 roaming freely—an unusual sight in Los Angeles! You can also see people walking barefoot 🦶 on the wooden planks, which feels so different from the bustling outside world. Everything here feels more authentic and in line with traditional Thai life: relaxed, content, and joyful. The courtyard is adorned with various Buddha statues, mostly from Thailand 🇹🇭, but also some from Myanmar, China, and India. Each statue has its own unique decorations: elephants and roosters 🐘🐓 are considered auspicious in Thailand, and many statues have these animals placed in front of them as protectors—I had no idea! It’s such a charming touch! The area is also covered with colorful petals, and every time I visit, the flowers are fresh, showing their dedication and devotion. 🌺🙏 Here comes the highlight‼️ There is one particularly striking Buddha statue, surrounded by trees , which is my absolute favorite spot. I was truly captivated the first time I saw it—I could spend an entire afternoon here! The Thai flower garlands (called "มะลัย" in Thai, I’m not sure of the exact English translation—if anyone knows, please enlighten me!) come in various colors and are beautifully arranged on the statue, perfectly capturing the vibrant and colorful spirit of Southeast Asia. Plus, there’s always a mysterious fragrance in the air—I can’t tell if it’s incense, fruit, or something else (I’m so curious!). ✂️- - - - - In short: This place exudes a natural beauty and sense of relaxation that you can truly feel. Unlike the more famous Hollywood Thai temples, it maintains its own quiet and unpretentious charm. It’s perfect for when you want to find some peace and quiet 🧘‍♀️ (and it’s also great for photos! Not many people will disturb you, haha). Temple: Wat Padhammachart Opening Hours: Every day (9:00-17:00) (If you enter before 5:00 pm, you can leave at any time. The exit gate is automatic and will open for your car.) #LosAngeles #California #WeekendGetaways #HiddenGems #EscapeTheNoise #QuietPlaces #LosAngelesWeekend #Temples
