LA Endo | This Omakase Is Endless – Seriously, Can’t Finish It All πŸ₯΄

Tucked behind an unassuming glass door in Beverly Hills lies Endo, an omakase spot entirely dedicated to tempura. 🍀✨ Rumor has it this place once held a Michelin star 🌟, so of course, I had to try it! They offer three menu options – we went with HIGASHIYAMA (East Mountain) πŸ”οΈ, because, as Cantonese folks say, a good name brings good luck! πŸ˜‰ Stage 1 started with cold appetizers and salad. Scallops served with a savory sauce turned into jelly – so refreshing and appetizing! πŸƒ Sweet corn tempura: crispy outside, tender inside 🌽 Shrimp tempura dusted with matcha salt – a unique twist! 🍀🍡 Sashimi plate was incredibly fresh, and the toro simply melted in the mouth. 🐟πŸ’₯ Stage 2 focused on hot dishes. Sea urchin seaweed roll tempura with mushrooms – a powerful umami bomb! πŸ„πŸŒŠ Fresh scallop topped with generous caviar and a hint of uni inside – a perfect sweet-salty balance. πŸ₯’ The fried small fish was cute and crunchy 🐟, so we ordered a Sapporo beer to match. 🍻 By this point, I was already getting full... The chef noticed we slowed down and placed a small paper package in front of us. We opened it – and he shaved black truffle over it. πŸ„πŸ’« Then came the main event: lobster and wagyu. The chef even kindly added a complimentary uni and caviar tempura. I’ve never felt so overwhelmed by lobster and wagyu in my life – it was just too much food! Couldn’t finish it. Seriously, couldn’t. We had no choice but to ask for a takeaway box. We also packed the Oshokuji (rice course) for breakfast. πŸ±β˜€οΈ We also sipped some green kabocha soup πŸ₯£, and had two desserts that were… not very memorable. Under the warm gaze of the server and chef, with very full stomachs, we drove home and went for a long, long walk. πŸšΆβ™€οΈπŸ’¨ Verdict: Everything was good… just too rich. Personal rating: 7/10 Have you tried a tempura-focused omakase? How did you handle the food coma?
