Ever since I tried that mind-blowing traditional Korean steamed meat in a wooden box in Torrance, I couldn’t stop thinking about it! Then I found out a place in Ktown also serves it—so I rushed over right away 🏃♀️💨. This restaurant is a true hidden gem—a refined Korean eatery tucked inside a Korean hotel 🏨. Even in the super busy Ktown, parking is FREE—major plus! The vibe is understated yet elegant—minimalist but with a touch of luxury. Their signature dish is the wooden box steamed meat, with three options: beef with vegetables, ginseng duck, or smoked duck. We went with four people and ordered: 🦆 Smoked Duck Steamed in Cypress Wood ✨ My most-anticipated dish—did not disappoint! The smoked duck stayed tender after steaming, with a subtle cypress aroma. So flavorful! 🤩 🐂 Steamed Beef & Vegetables in Cypress Wood ✨ The beef looked super fresh and juicy! Served with veggies, it’s a healthy pot. Note: it’s not pre-seasoned—dip it in sweet soy sauce for that umami kick 😚. 🐟 Braised Black Cod ✨ Highly recommended by the owner—he said this dish is famous throughout Ktown! The cod was firm and delicious—don’t miss it 😉. 🍲 Traditional Beef Hot Pot ✨ So beautiful—a whole mountain of beef! The staff prepared it right at our table. A truly gorgeous classic dish. After this meal, it shot straight to my must-eat list in Ktown. Unlike other pretty restaurants, even the side dishes here are elaborate and extravagant—12 different ones served on a stunning plate, giving major Dae Jang Geum royal vibes 👑💫. Every dish is high aesthetics with full ceremony vibes.
