La Panadería – San Antonio’s Beloved Artisan Bakery! 🥐☕

This popular local bakery has four locations across the city – we visited the one near the zoo 🦁. Heads up: it gets pretty busy after 10:30 AM, so an early visit is a good idea! We didn’t try everything, but what we had was delicious 😋. Here’s what we ordered: 1️⃣ Conchas 🥯 Their signature item! These classic Mexican sweet breads come in four or five flavors, including a red velvet version. The shell-like topping is sweet but not overwhelming, and the bread is incredibly soft and fluffy – perfect with coffee ☕❤️. 2️⃣ Tres Leches Croissant 🥐 A customer favorite! Filled with strawberry cream, the croissant itself was buttery and delicious. The jam inside had a slightly tangy taste – not sure if it’s intentional or not, but it was still enjoyable! 3️⃣ Beans, Ham & Swiss Cheese Croissant 🥪 From the kids’ menu, but honestly – our top pick! 🏆 Smoky ham and black bean spread paired perfectly in a flaky croissant. Even the little ones loved it! 4️⃣ Tres Leches Matcha Cold Foam Drink 🥤 Looks like a new addition – reminded me of the trendy strawberry-matcha lattes back in Asia! No bitter matcha taste, just smooth, layered flavors. Highly recommend! We also tried their iced latte – solid choice 👍. 📍 La Panadería Bakery Café 🌟 Overall, their pastries are tasty, and the sandwiches and drinks stand out. We saw neighboring tables enjoying brunch plates – huge portions and totally tempting!
