La Pecora Nera

On a leisurely weekend, my friend and I visited the spa town of Montecatini. We passed by a restaurant in the city center with very distinctive decor, so we decided to go in and give it a try without a reservation. and as soon as we arrived, he offered us each a glass of red sparkling wine as an aperitif, along with some pea purée served with sliced baguette. For the first course, we ordered spinach pasta with lobster 🦞. The flavors were decent, and the lobster was fresh. I also had a dish of saffron risotto with pigeon and port wine which was definitely the best dish of the night 🌟. The combination of Parmesan cheese, saffron powder, and pigeon leg created a very unique flavor that left me wanting more! For the main courses, we ordered four dishes: grilled octopus 🦑 with crispy golden potato chips, tzatziki sauce, and mayonnaise ; lamb shank 🐑 with Jerusalem artichokes, chestnuts, and a chanterelle mushroom broth ; red snapper with radicchio, saffron broth, and thyme bread crust ; and steamed Icelandic cod with black cabbage and creamy yellow tomatoes . The lamb shank was particularly impressive with its generous portion and great taste. Both fish dishes were also very fresh! **Restaurant:** La Pecora Nera **Average Cost:** €50+ **Address:** Via S. Martino, 18, 51016 Montecatini Terme PT #FlorenceCuisine #Florence #WeekendEats #WesternCuisine #FlorenceWesternCuisine #MichelinRestaurant #MichelinRestaurantReview #DateRestaurant #ItalianCuisine #FineDining
