Lamb Shank and Persian Kabob near the University of Waterloo

Hello everyone! These days, I’ve been so swamped with deadlines that my head’s been spinning 😵💫 Between juggling work and cooking up a new series for you all, I’ve totally slacked on posting—so sorry! 🙏 But today, I’m here to make it up with a fantastic Persian restaurant near the university: Kabob Place 🍢 I went straight for the Sultani Kabob (package name, check Figure 2! 📸) and the Lamb Shank (Figure 3, you won’t regret it! 🐑). The best part? Dishes here are customizable—so I mixed the Sultani set with the lamb shank, and boom! Three types of meat piled high on a bed of rice 🍚. To break it down: brag kabob (grilled beef skewers 🍖), koobideh kabob (grilled pork skewers 🐷), and that melt-in-your-mouth lamb shank. YUM. The seasoning’s on the mild side, which I loved—you can tweak it with their red pepper powder (Figure 6! 🌶️), salt, or spiced salt to match your taste. Pro tip: Skip the orange-red sauce in the bottles 🚫 It’s insanely sour—like, made my mouth tingle and pucker sour 😝 No clue what’s in it, but trust me, you don’t need it. The meats’ natural savory, salty flavor is already chef’s kiss 👩🍳 The lamb shank? Chef’s kiss x100 🐑 It’s so tender, you can pull it apart with a fork, and that rich lamb flavor? Unbeatable. After your meal, they bring out Persian black tea with sugar cubes ☕️ Sipping tea post-dinner is so refreshing, and the cute tea set with tiny plates feels super ceremonial—like a little treat 🌸 Oh, and the drinks! The last picture shows their unique, non-alcoholic options 🥤 I tried two fruit flavors and a wheat one—fun fact: the wheat one, with a splash of alcohol, would basically be a light beer! 🍻 They were all surprisingly delicious. Average cost is around 20 CAD per person, but students get ~10% off 🎓 The owner is so sweet—she noticed I looked like a student and gave me the discount on her own! How thoughtful is that? 😊 Address: 280 Lester St, Waterloo, ON N2L 0G2, Canada 📍 Go check it out if you’re nearby—you won’t be disappointed! 😋 #WaterlooLife #WaterlooFood #Kabob #HiddenGemRestaurant #LambShank #FoodExploration
