Las Vegas|A Mixed-Feelings All-You-Can-Eat After a 2.5-Hour Wait
888 Sushi and Robata After finishing a meal at Mama’s Pancake in the same plaza, I noticed a super long line outside another restaurant. Checked Yelp and found out it was a new branch of 888 Korean BBQ, focusing on sushi, sashimi, and robata skewers. The estimated wait was around two hours, so I decided to come back that evening to see what the hype was about (typical vacation foodie move, right? 😅). When I tried to join the waitlist online later, it was closed, so I put my name down in person and went back to the hotel to wait. On Sunday night, it ended up taking about 2.5 hours to get seated. The dining experience itself was pretty good! ✅ Great value — the most expensive tier is only $48 per person, and you get uni, wagyu, oysters, sweet shrimp, and more. There’s everything from sashimi to sushi to grilled skewers, and ordering was smooth. ⚠️ The robata skewers were a bit overly seasoned and heavy, and the sweet shrimp looked cooked but tasted raw…kind of confusing. 😵 Still, since it had been a while since I’d done AYCE, I generally enjoyed it. So why “mixed feelings” in the title? The next morning, my boyfriend started feeling awful—nausea, vomiting, fatigue—and spent our flight home in total discomfort for two long hours. 😷✈️ Meanwhile, my iron stomach was completely fine…even though we ate the exact same things. We’ve had raw dishes like sashimi and beef tartare many times before without issues, so this was unexpected. Just something to consider based on your own stomach sensitivity! 🫣 #LasVegas #AllYouCanEat #Sushi #Robata #FoodPoisoningRisk #MixedReview #VegasEats #AYCE
