Las Vegas | Exploring Watery Escapes 💧🏜️
Even though Vegas sits in the desert, there are plenty of watery spots nearby to explore and recharge! 🌿 ● First stop: Wetlands Park, near the airport direction. A wetland park in the middle of the desert? So healing! 💚 With ponds, greenery, streams, little bridges, and wildlife—it’s hard to believe you’re still in Las Vegas. ● Not far away: Bird Viewing Preserve – a true hidden gem! 🐦 Nine beautiful ponds, each framed by blue skies, white clouds, distant mountains, and swaying reeds. So peaceful and picturesque—even compared to spots in the Bay Area or LA! ● Lake Las Vegas is surrounded by lakeside villas and hotels. The views are gorgeous, but parking is tricky if you’re not staying at a hotel. 🏨 ● Lake Mead, the largest man-made reservoir in the US. Because it’s artificial and set in a valley, it feels a bit less vibrant and natural. 🏞️ ● Hoover Dam, the biggest dam in the US, supplying water to Arizona, California, and Nevada. You can go down 100+ meters inside the dam—it’s impressive but also feels a bit intense and confined. 😮💨 ● Finally drove to Willow Beach in Arizona. 🚤🎣 Lots of people boating and fishing here. I sat and read a book while waiting for sunset—a perfect end to the day. 📖🌅 Have you visited any of these spots around Vegas? Which water escape is your favorite?
