Las Vegas • Yunnan Tasty Garden 🦀🍜
We’d seen recommendations saying it was delicious, but after going… it felt more like, “This is the famous Vegas Chinese food?” 😅 We lucked out with the last available table when we arrived, but after that, people started queuing up — though the line moved pretty quickly. The servers were nice — friendly but not overly pushy. 😊 Their signature dish seems to be crab, which we originally wanted to try… but we were shocked to see it priced over $80 for what looked like just one bread crab on other tables. Maybe it's because Vegas is inland and seafood costs more? We ended up passing and ordered other things. (Philly, NYC, Edison — there are plenty of Chinese spots with great crab for less!) We tried the build-your-own spicy dry pot (Mala Xiang Guo) — you pick ingredients like in China. The selection felt a bit limited though. I went for “mild spice” and no broth, but it turned out very salty with a strong cumin flavor. Also, I’m pretty sure I put four quail eggs in my bowl… but I could only find three later. 🥚🤔 The Crossing-the-Bridge Rice Noodles (I think that’s the name?) were described online as light — which sounded perfect to balance the heavy dry pot. The toppings were already mixed in (not DIY-style, as the server explained). Underneath the noodles were shredded chicken breast, ham, and veggies. It wasn’t quite like what I had in Yunnan, but it was indeed mild and refreshing — good for cooling down after the salty dry pot. Steamed Black Chicken in Clay Pot was packed with herbs — the broth had a medicinal taste (maybe that’s the style?). The chicken was chopped small and was super dry — probably just meant for sipping the soup. On a bright note — their tea was really delicious! Not sure what kind it was, but it was lovely. ☕ 💰 Total for two: $66.xx + tip 📍 5115 Spring Mountain Rd suite 103-105, Las Vegas, NV 89146 #USChineseFood #LasVegasEats #YunnanFood #SpicyDryPot #FoodReview 🥢🌶️✨
