🥢 Las Vegas Chinese Food: Hits & Misses 🎰

Just documenting my Chinese food journey in Las Vegas — some pleasant surprises, and a few spots that didn’t quite live up to the hype (looking at you, Da Dan Ge). 🔴 RED LIST – HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 🍜 Yun Noodles and Dumplings 👍🏻👍🏻 Their Northwest-style cold skin noodles (liangpi) were absolutely addictive — couldn’t stop eating! The beef noodles tasted very close to what you’d find in China. The lamb chops were tender, though lightly seasoned — dipping sauce was a bit simple. 🦀 Crab Prince (Xie Gong Zi) A somewhat controversial spot online, but I went with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised (maybe ’cause it’s been a while since I had dry pot!). You pick your ingredients and pay by weight — choose between mala tang or dry pot. Even as someone who loves bold flavors, I found it a bit salty, so I rinsed mine in hot water — and it turned out just right for me! 😂 🟠 ORANGE LIST – DECENT, BUT NOT AMAZING 🥟 Shanghai Taste The duck was nicely sweet and savory. Pan-fried buns (shengjian) were above average. Veggie dishes were just okay — nothing special. 🍵 Urban Matcha Tried their matcha soft serve — very rich and bitter in a good way, but a bit too icy for me. Would’ve preferred it creamier. (And yeah, I was buzzing all night after this 🍵😅) 🍲 Mala Town A fairly new mala spot in the same plaza as Tang Tang Tang. Good variety of ingredients, flavor was decent — but not very memorable. ⚫ DISAPPOINTMENTS – OVERHYPED 🥣 Da Dan Ge (Xi’an Style) I had high hopes — it was one of my most-anticipated meals. The Lamb Soup (Shui Pen Yang Rou) had too much white pepper — the lamb flavor was just medium. The Xi’an cold noodles were too sour even for someone who loves sour flavors. The bread (baijimo) was pretty good though! Not bad, but definitely didn’t match the online buzz. Maybe other dishes are better? #LasVegasEats #ChineseFoodVegas #HitsAndMisses #MalaTang #ColdNoodles #MatchaDessert
