Lavender Town Near Madrid

No need to go to Provence to see lavender fields; there’s a charming lavender town just outside of Madrid. Burihuega is located about 95 kilometers northeast of Madrid, an hour’s drive away. The town is surrounded by numerous lavender fields. The entire town is adorned with the purple of lavender, and there are many shops selling lavender products. Lavender essential oil is definitely worth a purchase, and lavender ice cream is a must-try during your visit. The town also retains a castle from the 11th century and walls from the 12th century. However, local attractions often have opening hours from 11 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm, so plan your visit accordingly. In July, the town celebrates its Lavender Festival. There are various lavender-themed activities, including hikes and concerts. There’s a tourist information service in the small square on the north side of the town, providing relevant information. Even if you just wander around, visiting the town and taking photos in the flower fields is a wonderful experience. Just be careful of the bees. #DayTripsFromMadrid #LavenderTown
