Lisbon, Portugal | Otters + The Edge of the World at Cabo da Roca
📍 Lisbon Oceanarium (€25 entry) All seawater exhibits are interconnected, forming a complete marine ecosystem. Beyond marveling at the ingenious design, you’ll sense the curator’s mission: "One planet, one ocean." Star residents: The adorably clumsy sunfish (Mola Mola) Playful sea otters 🦦 Majestic sharks and rays in the central tank Though compact (2-3 hours suffice), its educational displays and immersive experience make this Expo ‘98-renovated aquarium the world’s second-best! 📍 Cabo da Roca "I came to this world to see the sun and mountain ranges. I came to this world to see the ocean and flower-filled valleys." Standing on this narrow cliff, with the Atlantic wind on your face, you’ll truly grasp nature’s grandeur. Today’s clouds hid the sunset—giving me a reason to return. 📍 Fábrica da Nata Their pastéis de nata are KFC-style (extra sweet), less iconic than Belém’s original. But try the Codfish Pastry—a Portuguese twist on Japanese croquette, with salted cod mixed into mashed potatoes. 📍 Pinóquio (Time Out Market branch) (Closed at Restauradores on Christmas Eve) Seafood Rice 🌟🌟 Fresh ingredients, but I prefer Uma’s richer broth. Roasted Codfish 🌟🌟🌟 Flavor-packed in olive oil, though the bones were annoying. 📍 Taverna Alfacinha (Next to Uma, 80% Asian diners) Paella Senorita 🌟🌟🌟 Generous seafood, perfect tomato-sea fusion. Grilled Octopus 🌟🌟 A menu staple but underseasoned—needs sauce! Tomorrow: The highlight of my trip—ZooAdventures! 🦁 #Portugal #Lisbon #TravelDiaries #Wanderlust #AestheticMoments
