Lisbon Food Guide | Delicious & Affordable
Lisbon is packed with amazing food, but since I only had four days, I picked out some of the best spots (though there were a few misses). The recommendations cover two main areas: the historic center and Sintra. On average, each meal cost around €10, and we ordered a lot—always leaving stuffed! 🦐 UMA Restaurant Highly recommended!! A must-try Portuguese seafood rice (arroz de marisco). The portion is huge, so do NOT order one per person! Sprinkle some white pepper—perfection. The menu is just one page, and all the starters were great. Pretty sure every customer there came from Xiaohongshu. 🥞 Breakfast Lovers Had the best brunch of my life in Portugal—everything was insanely good! The burrata dish was amazing, and their seasonal special was a hit too. They have two branches—go to the newer one for a discount! 🍗 Tasco do Strauss A Spanish restaurant in Sintra with a 4.9 Google rating!!! Their chicken wings were so good we ordered a second plate. The scrambled eggs were next-level, and the owner was super friendly, chatting with us the whole time. Rumor has it they’re opening a branch in the UK soon!! 🥘 Maria Catita Randomly picked this place in the city center based on Google reviews—so glad we did! The fish and octopus were fresh and full of flavor. Big recommendation!! 🐟 Tu & Eu Traditional Portuguese cuisine! Fresh, seasonal grilled seafood that really highlights the natural flavors. Cash only! Slightly pricier than other spots, but worth it. 🥚 Pasteis de Nata Ranking: Belém > Fábrica da Nata > Manteigaria 🍔 As Bifanas do Afonso Cheap, but personally, the pork had a strong gamey taste and was super dry. Not recommended. 🍖 Frangasqueira Nacional Only three tables inside. We waited almost 3 hours, only to be told at the last minute that we couldn’t dine in because of reservations—takeout only. Fine, we were starving, so we each ordered a whole chicken (not unreasonable, right? Plus, we had four guys with us who could definitely finish it). The whole place was run by just two women—one grilling, the other taking orders, serving, etc. When we ordered, they yelled at us for ordering "too much," complaining while pulling more chicken from the freezer. In the end, they only let us get 2-3 portions. The chicken was overly salty, dry, and tough, and the sides tasted spoiled... A total disaster. #StudyAbroadLife #PortugueseCuisine #LisbonFood #LisbonRestaurants #LisbonGuide #PortugueseSeafoodRice #LisbonEats
