Lisbon Pateo | A Portuguese Restaurant Hidden in the Alleyways
🌟Make sure to book in advance if you can; we walked in and ended up waiting for quite a while, almost until the restaurant closed. 🌟Two of us had two starters and two mains: 🌟Octopus tartare Served with lettuce, it was quite nice with a slight saltiness on the surface, but not too salty. Prawn with garlic and chilli A classic dish that’s consistently delicious. The warm prawns dipped in the light, fragrant sauce below were a perfect blend of flavors, not too salty and easy to eat. 🌟Squid with black rice Both mains were requested less salty, but they were still quite salty… The black rice became increasingly salty with each bite. Although it was a thin layer of rice, it was a bit hard to finish. 🌟Shrimp with bread puree A traditional Portuguese dish (I think?), with a few shrimps on top of the bread puree, a pile of coriander, and egg yolk. They taught us to mix it all together. The first few bites were refreshing, with the aroma of the bread and the freshness of the shrimp, but it too became increasingly salty. However, if I had to choose between the two mains, I’d recommend this puree; it wasn’t as salty as the black rice and was more unique. 🌟Overall, the two starters were fine, no disappointments there, but the mains were too salty, making it feel like we hadn’t eaten much of the main course. The seafood was indeed good, the octopus, prawn, and squid were all quite nice. #Lisbon
