Find Things to DoFind The Best Restaurants

Locally Recommended Austrian Cuisine‼️

This trip to Vienna was a last-minute decision, and I didn’t have time to research local specialties beforehand (most of my time was spent studying museums, haha!). So, I opened the familiar Michelin Guide🛞 and finally found an affordable Austrian restaurant for the working class! I was fortunate to secure a reservation for a weekday dinner at 6:30 pm. The dining experience, including the service and dishes, was very satisfying🙂‍↕️. The restaurant mainly serves small plates meant for sharing, with only a few main courses being larger portions. In the photo, three of us shared about eight dishes and were about 80% full. We ordered four appetizers, two main courses, three desserts, and three cocktails, totaling around 185 euros (we left a 10% tip), which I think is quite good value for money👍. In the first photo, the small appetizer plates from left to right are: XO Beef Tartar 16 EUR | A must-try, the raw beef is very refreshing. Bread & Butter 4.5 EUR | A must for bread lovers. Their butter is a bit like cream cheese, super delicious and refillable (I had two refills🙂‍↕️). Octopus 19 EUR | Burrata 14 EUR | Both are good, but not as impressive as the others. In the second photo, the large main courses from left to right are: Arctic Char 24 EUR | The salmon with lemon and fennel sauce, topped with trout caviar, is perfectly balanced🌟 Highly recommended! Wiener Schnitzel 26 EUR | A classic Austrian dish, the fried pork cutlet is a must-try❗️ The meat is tender and pairs well with the sweet and sour cranberry sauce for a unique flavor💖 For the cocktail, I chose Elderflower Fizz, which is not very alcoholic and easy to drink even for someone who doesn’t drink often. By 8 pm, the restaurant was almost fully booked, and we were the only Asian guests, which shows how much locals and Europeans love this hidden gem. If you want to try authentic Austrian cuisine here, make sure to book in advance! 🍽️ Skopik & Lohn 📍 Leopoldsgasse 17, Vienna, 1010, Austria 💰 40-50 EUR per person #AtmosphericRestaurant #RestaurantRecommendation #HiddenGemRestaurant #MichelinRestaurantReview #AustrianCuisine #EatingOut #MichelinRecommended #ViennaEats
