London’s The Aubrey 🍣

Chose this Japanese spot near home for Valentine’s Day, and they had a special Valentine’s set menu. Overall, it was quite nice, with a great environment and dishes perfect for a date. 😍 🍽️ Starter (p5-6) Chef’s Selection of Sushi Platter - The fish was super fresh, and the one with yuzu salt was refreshing, but the beef was a bit too rich and greasy, and the caviar was just okay. 🍣 Chicken Sando - The best of the starters! 🥹 The chicken was tender, and the butter-fried bread was divine. Next time, I want to try the wagyu! Cucumber Seaweed Oshinko Salad - A nice palate cleanser. 🥗 Monkfish Cheek Popcorn - Also delicious, couldn’t find any faults with it, and the bean sprouts at the bottom weren’t greasy at all. 🍤 🍽️ Mains (p7) Surf & Turf - A fun name with lobster and t-bone steak, the portions were huge, we had to pack some to go. The lobster was cooked to perfection, and the special sauce was a nice touch. The t-bone was amazing, rich but not greasy, with a light butter flavor. The scallions and black truffle yuzu vinegar on the side were a unique and brilliant combo. 🦐🥩 Mushroom Fried Rice - Super fragrant fried rice with onions, absolutely delicious! 😋 🍽️ Desserts (p8) Sakura Heart - A heart-shaped cake with matcha sponge, mango puree, and cream. Not too sweet, but not the best either. The boyfriend said the side garnish had a Shaoxing wine flavor, so it’s more about the presentation. 🎀 Petit Fours - Very delicate and tasty sweets! The matcha macaron had a genuine matcha flavor, not the overly sweet British kind, and the hawthorn soft candy was unique. 🍬 💴 Average cost: £120+ #London #LondonFood #LondonLife #LondonMichelin #HiddenGemRestaurants #PrettyMeals
