London's 100 Meals | No.86 The Delaunay 🍽️
This week's best meal was at The Delaunay👀, a European Grand Café that can transport you to Vienna in an instant. The atmosphere, down to the smallest details, is spot on 👌🏼. As a sister restaurant to The Wolseley, I believe their main courses are even more outstanding. I'd come back just for their Chicken Schnitzel. For the appetizer, we had smoked salmon, simple yet extraordinary. I loved the capers on top, which were refreshing and added depth and texture without being overpowering. But the star of the show was their Viennese fried chicken cutlet, crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. The accompanying jam was sweet and tangy. As a mustard fanatic, I also enjoyed dipping it in some yellow mustard. It's a flavor I miss after not having it for a while. Their dessert menu is the longest I've ever seen 🍮, two full pages, truly a sweet dilemma. Sachertorte, as the national treasure of Austria, is a must-try when you're here. A few years ago, a friend brought me the original from Hotel Sacher in Vienna, and I think their version is even better. Highly recommend it to everyone ‼️ The restaurant is super close to many theatres, making it perfect for an early dinner before a show. Next time, I plan to try their Beef Stroganoff and various Viennese sausages. Looking forward to it~ #GlobalFoodTroops #EatingDifferentEveryDay #LondonFood #LondonLife #LondonFriedChicken #LondonFoodRecommendations
