London's Second Visit for the Bread and Dip at OMA
OMA specializes in modern Greek cuisine, located upstairs at Agora near Borough Market in London. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed. Overall, the dishes are pretty average, with some being a bit pricey for what you get. But I came back specifically for the laffa bread and tahini sauce! 🥪 ✨ A small highlight: I really like their tableware—it’s very practical. You can also look up Cesare Casali if you’re curious. 🫓 Wildfarmed Laffa £3.5 Freshly baked laffa bread that’s delicious on its own and perfect for dipping in various sauces. A must-order! 🥪 🍯 Tahini, Hot Honey, Crispy Chickpea £6 A dream for tahini lovers! Rich tahini sauce paired with sweet and tangy honey (not spicy) and crispy chickpeas. The combination of salty and sweet creates a layered texture. 🍯 🐟 Salt Cod XO, Labneh £6 Recommended by many, but I found it quite average. Compared to the tahini sauce, the labneh yogurt sauce is pretty plain, more like regular Greek yogurt with some salt cod on top. No big surprises in flavor. 🐟 🐚 Hand Dived Scallops, Chilli Oil Butter £14 A single scallop for £14. They’re not very large and simply grilled with chilli oil and butter. I didn’t find anything particularly special about them. Not worth the price. 🦪 🥩 Oxtail Giouvetsi, Bone Marrow, Beef Fat Pngrattato £27 The highlight is supposed to be the giouvetsi (Greek orzo), but the rich marrow flavor is completely overshadowed by vinegar. The beef is pretty ordinary and didn’t leave a great impression. 🍖 🐙 Charred Squid Skewer, Confit Garlic + Za’atar £28 Just average grilled squid with a typical charcoal flavor. Nothing particularly exciting. 🦑 🍨 Red Plum Sorbet £8 It looks nice but is quite sour. Not my cup of tea. 🍓 💰 Average Spend: £55 #LondonEats #LondonRestaurant
