London | Colleague-Approved Best Izakaya in London 😈

During a break at work, I chatted with a colleague who is from Japan. He said his go-to restaurant is a place that’s delicious and not expensive, perfect for a solo meal, and super close to the office, just near the 🚇Angel tube station. It sounded so tempting that I made a plan with a friend who loves Japanese food to check it out after work. Let’s go! TLDR: The takoyaki is a must-try, anything egg-related is delicious, and many dishes are flavored with teriyaki sauce, so if you love sweet flavors, you should definitely visit! The high balls are also great, and they have a wide variety of alcoholic beverages! Average cost: £30-40 Dishes: 👍🏻 Unagi Tamagoyaki | £10.5 Tamagoyaki with eel in the middle! The egg in this dish is so fluffy and aromatic, paired with a chunk of eel and a sweet and savory sauce. It’s truly a delight! 👍🏻 Tonpeiyaki | £9.2 I must admit, I hadn’t tried Osaka-style tonpeiyaki before… It looks like an omelette rice, but inside, it’s filled with cabbage and pork belly slices. Topped with sauce, it’s incredibly satisfying. Their egg crepes are top-notch! 👍🏻 Takoyaki | £8.7 Giant octopus balls (seriously, they’re huge) that my friend couldn’t resist trying first and got a hot mouth! They’re so fresh and taste differently from the usual! 👌🏻 Chicken Teriyaki | £12.8 👌🏻 Salmon Teriyaki | £13.8 Personally, I think the chicken > salmon! The chicken is cut into smaller pieces, so it’s more flavorful, but the salmon has a rich, oily flavor that’s on another level! 👌🏻 Spicy Kyuri | £5.95 👌🏻 Tataki Kyuri | £5.95 Next to us was a table of five or six Japanese people who seemed to be enjoying their meal immensely. Suddenly, I understood why my Japanese colleague likes this place. After a tiring day, being able to eat familiar flavors from home, bumping into fellow countrymen in a small izakaya, having a couple of drinks, it must feel like a little piece of Japan. It’s bound to lift your spirits! #LondonFood #JapaneseIzakaya #LondonJapaneseCuisine #LondonTenshi #tenshi #LondonIzakaya #LondonDateNight #LondonGetTogether #LondonJapaneseFoodRecommendation #LondonJapaneseRestaurant #LondonJapaneseCuisineHeaven
