London | London Wetland Centre: Otter Spotting

Here’s a note from a couple of weeks ago that I’ve been procrastinating on writing, with photos taken a few weeks prior. 🌿 This is a unique natural haven in the city, accessible by subway to Hammersmith and then a short walk. Note that there’s an entrance fee! The park has two captivating sections, the bird enclosure, and the wild wetland area. 🌿 First up, the wetland area, known for its diverse wetland ecosystems. The park has prepared several bird-watching hides where you can stick out your camera or telescope from a covered shelter, free from the wind and rain, to observe the birds. 🌿 Next is the bird enclosure, which includes species that are hard to find in the wild. The park thoughtfully provides an introduction for each type of bird, so you’ll never have to worry about not recognizing them! Two geese seemed particularly interested in my husband’s backpack strap and kept chasing it to nibble on. 🌿 Don’t miss the twice-daily otter feeding sessions. Two otters put on a show with their acrobatic fish-eating skills around the keeper~ and a heron was lurking nearby, waiting to benefit once the otters had their fill. #WetlandPark #WeekendGetaway #Otters #Wildlife #BirdWatching #BritishLife #NoteInspiration #OffTheBeatenPath #NoteInspiration
