London | Michelin-Recommended Dining for Under Β£20
Hoppers, a Sri Lankan restaurant in London, has received a Michelin recommendation for three consecutive years, truly well-deserved! There are several branches in London, so you can choose the one closest to you. This time, my friends and I visited the Marylebone branch and tried some of their popular dishes: Bone Marrow Varuval ππππ This dish is known for its rich umami flavour and unique spices. The sauce is infused with the aroma of coconut milk, paired with soft Roti bread, the taste is absolutely fantastic! The sauce even outshines the bone marrow itself. By the end, youβll want to soak up every last drop of the sauce with the Roti, not wasting a bit. Lamb Kothu Roti πππππ This dish combines shredded lamb with chewy flatbread, mixed with coriander and lime for a fresh twist. The lamb is slow-cooked to tenderness, with a milky flavour, though some may find a slight gamey taste. The overall flavour reminds one of Xinjiang cuisine. However, Kothu Roti, a classic street food from Sri Lanka, has a unique spice blend and cooking method that gives it a distinct taste. Egg Hopper ππππ Hopper is a traditional Sri Lankan dish, usually made with fermented rice batter and coconut milk, shaped like a bowl with an egg in the center, both visually appealing and delicious. The yolk is runny, the crust is crispy, and the aroma is rich. Itβs even more delicious when paired with curry sauce or bone marrow π If youβre a fan of Sri Lankan cuisine, Hoppers is definitely worth a try! π΄ Hoppers Marylebone #London #LondonFood #LondonLife #LondonXinjiangCuisine #LondonFoodHunting #LondonFoodCheckIn #LondonFoodGuide #LondonFoodRecommendations #LondonStudy #LondonWork
