London | Soho’s Incredible Spanish Eatery

💖Yesterday, I suddenly felt like going to Acne for a browse. I rushed there and managed to get a walk-around just before it closed, but nothing caught my eye. After coming out, I had a headache about where to eat without a reservation at this hour. Wandering aimlessly, I stumbled upon a Spanish restaurant that had been on my list for a long time. I had wanted to go before but could never find a suitable time. Thinking to try my luck with a walk-in, I was surprised to actually get a table! To be honest, I’ve had my fair share of misses with Spanish cuisine in London, but several dishes at this place have really earned it a spot on my regular rotation of restaurants. 🍄‍🟫 Wild Mushrooms with Raw Egg Yolk – The dish was greeted with a strong aroma of mushrooms. It looked dark, but biting into it released a burst of juices. The raw egg yolk, when mixed in, made the texture even more creamy, creating a perfect forest essence when combined. 🦪 Marinated Raw Scallop & Cured Monkfish – The scallops were sweet and tender, becoming sweeter with each bite on the tongue. The perfect seasoning paired with the monkfish slices made every mouthful taste like the sea. (Be sure to squeeze the accompanying small citrus; it’s so sweet.) 🍲 Slow-Cooked Tripe – Usually, tripe is crispy and chewy, but this dish was slow-cooked to a tender texture. The flavor was on the rich side, slightly salty, and it’s recommended to have it with a drink. 🦆 Whole Roasted Mallard – Served in a generous portion, the skin was crispy and the meat juicy, not dry. It was cut into easy pieces to eat. The accompanying pear and the special sauce were the highlights of the dish. 🔥 Wood-Fired Rice – It seemed to be roasted over an open fire in the restaurant’s large furnace. The slightly charred aroma on top was crispy, with a subtle sweetness that was the soul of the dish. Make sure to eat it hot. First time visiting, no misses so far, with an average cost of about 80💷 #FindingFoodInADumpster #LondonFoodHunt #London #LondonFood #soho #UK #UKTravel #SpanishCuisine
