London | Where Middle Eastern Tycoons Book Out the Whole Place
Kitchen Table, a long-standing Michelin two-star spot in London, left me with quite the impression—especially the enthusiastic Middle Eastern gentleman next to us who showered the chefs with praise and inquired about booking the entire restaurant for his next visit. The experience is blind-box style—no fixed menu, just a parade of surprise dishes. While the flavors were generally solid, the ingredient quality didn’t quite justify the £300+ per person price tag for me. 📅 Booking & Setup Reservations are surprisingly easy (1-2 days ahead suffices). Single seating only, with all 20 counter seats filled at once—noisy, not ideal for dates. Service starts only after all guests arrive (snacks first, then the main show). 🍽️ Food Highlights (and Lowlights) Cooked Oysters: As someone who avoids raw food, I was moved to tears when they accommodated my request for fully cooked oysters—a first in my Michelin experience! Snacks: The all-cooked starters were stellar, but later courses (like bland salmon and bitter fig ice cream) fell flat. Cocktails: Two of four were unbearably bitter. Staff replaced one gratis after feedback, but the remake tasted identical. 💰 Damage: £647.30 for two (£323.65 pp) 💭 Final Thoughts: Would return if ingredients matched the price, but for now, it’s a one-time curiosity for most. #MichelinLondon #FineDining #LondonFoodScene
