London Birthday Restaurant Recommendation: Carlotta
Carlotta is one of the restaurants under the Big Mama group. We chose this one among the many Big Mama restaurants in London because it’s smaller and more intimate, and it’s easy to make a reservation about a week in advance. We noted that it was for a birthday celebration when making the reservation, and we received a birthday card prepared by the restaurant on the day of our visit. The seating at this restaurant is first-come, first-served, and you can’t request a specific table. It’s advisable to arrive on time or a bit early for your reservation to get a better spot. We arrived five minutes early and were seated at a three-person table with built-in lighting, so we didn’t need to use our phone flashlights to read the menu (the restaurant lighting is quite dim!) 🍹 I ordered the Coco Loco (recommended by many influencers 🍠) My husband ordered the Lo Sgropino, a lemon-based cocktail, also recommended by the restaurant. Starters (Antipasti): Shrimp cocktails made with tempura batter 🍤 Tartare - a dish of raw beef, quite tender, but sisters who don’t eat raw meat should avoid it. Main Course: T-bone dry-aged steak - I’m tearing up, strongly not recommended, I found it quite average… I’ve had better Sicilian-style dry-aged steaks in London… It’s served for two, and it’s not cheap… I suggest sisters still choose pasta from the primi (first course) and meat from the secondi (second course). Dessert 🍮 Tiramisu - Very delicious!! Just a bit small in portion Limencello - Two small glasses of lemon liqueur 🍋 Italians like to drink this after meals, or coffee, to relax the stomach. The dessert and lemon liqueur were complimentary, and the final bill was over £170💷 #LondonBirthday #LondonBirthdayRestaurant #LondonItalianRestaurant #bigmama #CelebratingBirthdayInLondon
