London Date Spot: A Traditional French Bistro with Old-School Romance

This year, I kept my birthday simple and took a stroll down the long-awaited streets of Fulham, where I stopped at a French bistro that had been on my radar for a while. 🎂🚶‍♀️ The corner’s exquisite blue building looked like a freshly cut cake, adorned with gilded decorations, elegantly placed on this valuable piece of urban real estate. 🏰💎 A French friend had recommended it to me, saying the food took him “back to his homeland.” Although I’ve never been to Lyon, I adore the leisurely feel of French towns. 💭 The restaurant’s founder, Claude Bosi, is a two-Michelin-starred chef who has several collaborative restaurants in London, but this one feels more like his personal collection of home dishes. He runs it with his wife, and they named it after his late grandmother, bringing the flavors of Lyon to London as a tribute to his childhood memories. 🌟👨‍🍳 The menu is rich, and the atmosphere inside is refined yet lively, with many beautiful details, from the red logo and illustrations on the menu to the lace curtains with “Josephine” written on them, the handwritten wine list, the enthusiastic and gentlemanly old waiter, and the cozy little tables. Everything transports you to a French town’s street, full of life and authenticity. 🌹📋 Unlike the restrained and refined new European cuisine, this place has a down-to-earth charm. The cheese soufflé is rich and melts in the mouth, and the portion is just right, not too heavy. I also enjoyed the steak tartare, which was fresh and crispy. 🥛🥩 We didn’t order the signature frog legs, but both main courses had their own unique flavors. The veal was tender and paired well with the rich mushroom sauce, and the chicken was also highly recommended. 🐸🍖 The dessert was fantastic, with a raspberry sauce that echoed the red of the logo. The dining experience, which lasted over an hour, was delightful, and we couldn’t resist taking a photo with the entrance at the end. 📸🍓 I’m looking forward to going back when the menu changes to try something new. This place is perfect for dates, gatherings with friends, or anyone who wants to take a culinary tour of France over a meal. 🗓️💕 🍴 Recommended Dishes: 🌟 Soufflé au Saint-Félicien 🌟 Steak tartare 🌟 Soupe à l’oignon 🌟 Ris de veau aux morilles 🌟 Nougat glace #OverseasLife #LondonFood #LondonLife #LondonFoodExploration #LondonRestaurants #Chelsea #LondonFrenchCuisine #LondonDates #AtmosphericRestaurant #TreasureRestaurantShare
