π London in December during Christmas? βοΈ
Been meaning to make this post for a while! I visited London in December 2023 and spent Christmas there. Here's my take on the experience: Review: β β β β β 3.5/5! Some things that I enjoyed: It was easy to navigate and take the tube (just use your credit cards). ππ³ The architecture is amazing. π° Learn about the history of London by visiting the various museums; famous paintings by Van Gogh can be found in the National Gallery! πΌοΈπ¨ Why I wouldn't recommend going to London: It was pretty gloomy and rainy when I went. Felt like a good place to be sad at. ππ§οΈ Pickpocketed! Phone was stolen, but they are really good at this, so please be careful! Our phone strap unfortunately broke halfway through. π±π Lack of toilets =/ (very common in Europe, etc., is it just me?) Public transport may be affected by strike. πβ οΈ Expensiveβtry not to cab, and we mostly went to Chinatown to get food, but it was pretty crowded too! π·π₯‘ Christmas was underwhelming (thought there would be way more decorations and lights, but there wasn't). Do note that EVERYTHING is closed on Christmas Day in London, so you have to self-entertain yourself. π π»π What I would recommend: Bicester Village - Cheap designer goods that range across many brands! ποΈπ Visit the museums - Natural History Museum, etc.! Eye-opening. ποΈπΏ Winter Wonderland - Would be fun if friends went together. π’βοΈ Overall, just walking on the streets of London and enjoying the views. πΆββοΈπ Thanks for reading! π #london #europe #travelling #unitedkingdom #placestogo #trip #tripideas
