London Life | Witness 12,000 Roses in Full Bloom at Regent’s Park
Nestled in the Inner Circle of Regent’s Park, Queen Mary’s Garden is unarguably London’s most famous royal rose garden—named in honor of Queen Mary, the wife of King George V 👑. 🌹 The garden is home to a stunning collection of 12,000 rose bushes spanning 85 different varieties! Thanks to this year’s early heatwave, the roses started blooming in mid-May, and when I visited today, most of the key varieties were in peak bloom (only about 20% had started to fade). If you love roses, don’t wait—now’s the perfect window to visit before they’re gone ✨! 💓 Here are the garden’s highlights you won’t want to miss: - The Circular Rose Garden (a central focal point filled with lush blooms) - Romantic rose-covered arches/vines - The iconic Royal Park Roses - Plus, the Mediterranean Garden and Japanese Garden—both with unique, charming vibes of their own! Regent’s Park’s Open Air Theatre is also buzzing lately with music events, and outdoor plays are often held here too 🎭. Behind the rose garden, there’s a lake where you can rent rowboats 🚣♀️—and the Canadian geese are currently raising their fluffy goslings! Gliding on the lake while watching mama and papa geese with their little ones? Pure joy and cuteness overload 🦢! 👃 Every rose variety here stands out—not just for its beauty, but also for its distinct scent. The “Jubilee Papa” rose, located near the garden’s center, is known as the “most fragrant red rose”—its aroma is rich and intoxicating. Beyond taking photos of each variety, make sure to lean in and smell them (the small, double-petaled roses are especially fragrant!). By the end of your visit, you’ll leave with the sweet scent of roses lingering on your clothes 🌸! 📍 Address: Queen Mary’s Gardens, Inner Circle, Regent’s Park, London NW1 4NU - Admission: Free (no tickets needed!) - Nearest Tube Station: Baker Street #LondonLife #LondonTravel #LondonWeekend #FlowersInThePark #RoseBloomUpdate #Roses #RoseGardenVisit #GoSeeTheFlowers
