London Restaurant Exploration | A Tranquil French Retro Eatery
Just a stone’s throw from Primrose Hill, it’s a convenient 10-minute walk to the restaurant after watching the sunset in the evening. After dining, it’s an 8-minute walk to St. John’s Wood tube station to head home. 🍷 Upon entering, we started with drinks; the Rose Fizz is nice and worth a try, with a light alcoholic flavor and a slice of orange inside. We ordered three dishes and one dessert for three people. 🍰 For dessert, we had the Baked vanilla cheesecake, which is perfect if you don’t like overly sweet cakes. The creaminess is also very rich. 🍽️ For the main course, we tried the classic Boeuf Bourguignon. The mashed potatoes were super delicious and creamy, accompanied by small mushrooms, carrots, and other vegetables. The beef was tender and cooked to perfection; it’s a safe choice. Next was the Spiced Vegetable Hache with double fried egg, a blind pick that turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The middle layer is a bit like a fried vegetable cake and is delicious if you enjoy fried foods. Lastly, we had the Dressed Dorset Crab with buttered seeded bread. We wanted to try some seafood, so we went for the crab meat, which was tender and came in a generous portion. The topping was a bit like Heinz’s burger sauce (if I remember correctly). The bread was a bit hard, but the crab meat was the star of the dish, scoring between three to four out of five. 💷 The cost was about 40 pounds per person for the three of us, which is a bit pricey for the amount we ordered, but it’s up to you how lavish or frugal you want to be. #LondonRestaurantExploration #ExploringRestaurants #WeekendExploration #JoinMeForDinner #LondonAfternoonTea #LondonFrenchCuisine #LondonFood #LondonFoodExploration #RegentsPark #LondonZoo
