London Unexpected Downpour Leads to Discovering a Hidden Gem Museum!
☔️ A few days ago, I passed by Waterloo and was caught in the rain. While taking shelter, I stumbled upon the nearby Imperial War Museum. ❤️🩹 Initially, I wasn’t too interested in the theme, but a friend had recommended it, saying they spent three whole days there, checking out all the exhibits. Very recommended! 👀 Curiosity led me to check it out, and… spoiler alert for something amazing! ⏰ Open daily from 10:00-18:00 (Free! Free!) 🚇 Transportation: 7-minute walk from Lambeth North tube station, 15-minute walk from Waterloo tube station 🚀 Here are some highlights of the experience: Firstly, it’s actually quite popular, with nearly 30,000 reviews on the map, scoring a high 4.7. Many foreign parents bring their children here. It’s still relatively unknown to most Chinese tourists. The building looks unassuming from the outside, but once inside, you’re greeted by the sight of huge objects hanging in the atrium. The museum seems small, but it’s packed with so many exhibits that it’s dazzling. Each exhibition hall feels like a carefully designed time capsule 💊 The “interactive design” deserves a mention; the experience is great with quite a few interactive installations, such as a simulated trench and the ability to manually decode Morse code. What touched me the most was the accessible design! In addition to the usual large print and Braille guidebooks, each exhibition hall also has video guides in sign language. This attention to detail is quite heartwarming. Worth a visit 🆓 special themed exhibitions and great souvenirs There are several special exhibitions currently, such as deconstructing conflict through psychology and a comic exhibition, none of which are very large but are worth seeing. I was surprised to find that they also have a wide range of distinctive souvenirs, including flying pigs, flying dogs, and pigs, which are quite nice to buy. After seeing it all, I felt like saying: Being alive is actually great, let’s eat another apple! #LondonTravel #MuseumCheckIn #LondonMuseums #OffTheBeatenPath #WarAndPeace #London #LondonLife #MyArtExhibitionDiary #MuseumsWorthVisiting #Museum
