Long Weekend Getaway
Long Weekend Getaway: 4 Days & 3 Nights in Savannah & Charleston đď¸ đ Trip Summary Savannahâs downtown is tinyâno need to rent a car at all; you can walk to all major attractions! Even in the middle of the night, the streets are still bustling with people, so the nightlife vibe is super lively đ. Charleston, however, has attractions that are more spread out, with some far from downtownâdefinitely recommend renting a car for easier travel đ. Both cities are steeped in history, and every corner feels like a movie setâancient oak trees draped in moss, red-brick buildings covered in vines; every casual snap turns into a retro-style blockbuster đ´đˇ! Personally, I thought Charleston was more fun, so I suggest allocating more time to it. If I get the chance later, Iâd love to visit Charleston again for a deeper dive! đď¸ Day 1 | Savannah Itinerary đ¨ Accommodation: Andaz Savannah The hotelâs location is unbeatable! Itâs within walking distance to City Market and River Streetâno detours needed at all. The sweetest touch? Every afternoon, the hotel hosts a sâmores-roasting activity. Sitting in the courtyard, toasting fluffy marshmallows, instantly brought back childhood joy đĄ! đ Dinner: YATAI Ramen + Yakitori We arrived in Savannah late at night. After dropping off our luggage, we randomly picked a nearby restaurant. Their ramen was pretty mediocreâthe broth wasnât rich enough, and the noodles lacked chewiness. Definitely not worth making a special trip for â. đŚ Dessert: Leopold's Ice Cream This century-old ice cream parlor has been open since 1919. Even its retro storefront exudes a strong sense of nostalgia, and the interior is decorated with old movie elementsâeven the menu looks like a vintage poster đ˝ď¸! The lemon custard flavor is a must-tryâsweet, tangy, and refreshing, with no cloying aftertaste. The rum-infused flavors are also great. We waited in line for about 15 minutes on Friday night, but it was totally worth it the second we took a bite! đď¸ Day 2 | Savannah Itinerary đł Breakfast: Toast! All Day This popular American brunch spot had a long line even on a rainy day đ§ď¸! We ordered the Belgian Waffle and Eggs Meeting Streetâmaybe we didnât pick the restaurantâs specialties, but both tasted average, not as amazing as the online hype made it out to be. â Coffee: The Coffee Fox Roasting Co. A locally loved specialty coffee roasterâthey roast their own beans in-house! We got a classic latte; the foam was smooth, the coffee aroma was rich, and it went down easily. Perfect for a pick-me-up when youâre tired from walking â. đŻ Specialty Shop: Savannah Bee Company A hidden gem famous for its honey products! The store has all kinds of honey, beeswax goods, and even offers free mead tastings. We bought blueberry honey sodaâit had a subtle blueberry fragrance and sweet honey taste, super refreshing and perfect for summer đ§. đ¨ Cultural Experience: SCAD Story This exhibition space belongs to the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Admission is free, but you need to book online in advance. The whole experience is incredibly immersiveâusing lighting, sound effects, and interactive installations to tell SCADâs founding history and artistic philosophy. Even if youâre not an art student, youâll feel the strong artistic atmosphere and learn a lot â¨. ⲠPark: Forsyth Park The park is filled with lush green trees, and its iconic white fountain sits right in the center. Unfortunately, the fountain wasnât working the day we visited, which took away some of the vibe đ˘. But you can totally imagineâon a sunny day, with sunlight glistening on the fountainâs water, it must be a perfect photo spot! đ Lunch: Flying Monk Noodle Bar We ordered the signature Na Na Noodles and Singapore Noodles. Both were just so-soâthe noodles had an average texture, and the sauce left no lasting impression. Itâs the kind of place you can skip if youâre short on time. #Savannah#SavannahTravel#SCAD#LaborDay
