This is the coolest place I've visited in the UK! It feels like stepping into a magical, ancient forest π³, reminiscent of the Forbidden Forest from Harry Potter! Just a short drive from London π, it offers numerous hiking trails. If you love mystery and hiking, this is the place to go! π³ Name : Wistman Wood A nature reserve located within Dartmoor National Park in Devon. πππ Things to Do Nearby πππ π² Forest Hiking : I recommend the Wistman's Wood circular trail. It's a popular route that takes you around Dartmoor National Park, offering beautiful forest views. The trail is about 7 km long and takes around 2 hours to completeβperfect for beginners. π‘ Princetown Village : The nearest village to Wistman Wood, accessible along the hiking trail. It has several cafes, small shops, and a visitor center where you can grab a bite and rest. ζΌ Lydford Gorge Waterfall : A beautiful waterfall located within Dartmoor National Park. It's relatively secluded, offering a great experience! It feels like being in a tropical rainforest, and it's perfect for photos. π· Pennywell Farm : A farm with many adorable animals, including miniature horses and hedgehogs. It's super cute! πππ How to Get There πππ From London: π By Car : It takes about 4 hours to drive. π By Train : Take the GWR/South Western Railway to Exeter, then transfer to the Dartline 98 bus to Princetown. From there, it's a 10-minute taxi ride. The whole journey takes about 4.5 hours. β οΈ TIPS : Since Wistman Wood is quite far from the city and hiking can be tiring, I recommend staying overnight nearby.
