Madrid's Perfect 100/100 Atmosphere Peruvian Restaurant
I'm really going to miss my friend Jing, who is heading back to her home country. Every time we meet, it's such a joy! 🥳 She's leaving for three months, so of course, we had to throw her a proper "farewell" dinner in our own special way. Let me tell you, Jing is a true foodie. She's been to most of the restaurants in Madrid and after searching high and low, she finally found this place that looks great in terms of both ambiance and cuisine. 👀 📍 Quispe This is a Peruvian 🇵🇪 restaurant, and reservations are a must on weekends‼️ You get to choose between the regular dining room or the greenhouse. We opted for the greenhouse, which was really pretty but a bit warm. The regular dining room is also nice, but be careful not to get seated by the entrance – it can be quite drafty and cold. 🥶 Allow me to introduce the dishes we ordered: 1️⃣ Peruvian National Dish: Ceviche – Lime-marinated raw fish. It was super fresh, but after a few bites, the tanginess started to kick in a bit. 2️⃣ Yellow "Planter" Causa Limeña: Usually, it's served in a round shape, similar to Russian salad. The unique thing about this place is that they arrange the mashed potatoes, sweet potato puree, and avocado puree in stripes, like toothpaste or thick noodles. It looks really cool, but the taste is still the classic one. 3️⃣ The best dish of the night: Duck Rice. Don't worry about any gamey flavors – the duck was perfectly prepared, very aromatic. The rice tasted like it had curry in it, which might have masked any potential gaminess. Highly recommended! 4️⃣ Scallops baked with cream cheese – Not bad, but I personally didn't think it was worth the price. 5️⃣ We ordered a passion fruit cheesecake, and surprisingly, every bite of the cheese had a hint of passion fruit flavor. 🌵 The yellow dots on the plate are supposed to be passion fruit, but I couldn't really taste it. Haha! 🥔🥖 Before the meal, they bring you fried sweet potato chips and freshly baked bread (for a fee). We didn't initially plan to order drinks, but seeing that almost every table had something, how could we resist? As a fan of pretty colors, I went for the pink Chincha, and Jing chose passion fruit. They also have non-alcoholic versions. 💶 The average cost per person is around 70-80 euros, depending on what you order. 📬 Located at calle de conde de aranda, 4 (Salamanca) Retiro. #Madrid #HiddenGemRestaurant #RestaurantsToRepeat #DiningWithVibe #GalleryLikeRestaurant #TreasureRestaurantShare #RestaurantRecommendation #MadridFood #MadridDining
