Review for Quispe - Exquisite Peruvian Cuisine in the Heart of Madrid
While touring Madrid, we had the pleasure of dining at Quispe, an upscale Peruvian restaurant that delivered an unforgettable culinary experience. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the elegant and contemporary ambiance, which perfectly blends modern design with subtle nods to Peruvian culture.
The food at Quispe is nothing short of exceptional. Each dish is a masterpiece, showcasing the rich flavors and vibrant colors of Peruvian cuisine. We started with the ceviche, which was incredibly fresh and bursting with tangy, citrusy goodness. The lomo saltado, a classic Peruvian stir-fry, was perfectly cooked, with tender strips of beef and a delightful mix of vegetables. The presentation of each dish was impeccable, making the meal a feast for both the eyes and the palate.
Service at Quispe is top-notch. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. They guided us through the menu with enthusiasm, offering insightful recommendations and ensuring that our dining experience was flawless from start to finish.
The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, with a chic and sophisticated atmosphere that makes it perfect for a special occasion or a memorable night out. The attention to detail in the decor, from the stylish furnishings to the ambient lighting, creates a welcoming and luxurious environment.
Quispe is a must-visit for anyone in Madrid seeking an extraordinary dining experience. The combination of outstanding food, excellent service, and a stunning setting makes it a standout choice. We highly recommend Quispe to anyone looking to indulge in the finest Peruvian...
Read moreQuispe unlocked a new life goal: being able to eat here as often as I can. The restaurant is a little perfectly beautiful and sophisticated corner of Peru in the heart of Salamanca. Eros, our waiter, made sure our experience was incredible and we are so grateful for that! The food is indescribable: so good it brings tears of joy to your eyes. The mejillones are the freshest, most incredible mussels you will eat in Madrid. The portions are quite abundant, so don’t make the mistake of getting more than one starter per person, because the mains are incredible. My partner got the salmon tiraditos, I tasted the sauce and to my surprise it was gluttony in orange: rich, creamy, decadent but fresh maracuja-based sauce. Incredible. For mains I had the seafood risotto: now, I’m Italian, I know my risotto and I know my seafood. This was something else. Italy can learn from Quispe how to make risotto. I don’t exactly have words to describe the e polsino of flavours and happiness this dish brought to me. My partner had beef with mashed potatoes (I don’t eat meat so I didn’t pay too much attention) but I tasted the mashed potatoes. Needless to say: it was like falling in love for the first time. For dessert we had the lemon tart, which was absolutely incredible.
Everything in this place is amazing, it’s not cheap, but if you want to treat yourself this is where you should go! One downside is that bread and butter are served without asking, which is ok, but then we noticed on the bill that we got charged 7 euros for them, which in my opinion is a bit steep for a place which is already...
Read moreQuispe was my first experience with Peruvian fine dining, and it exceeded my expectations. I had been wanting to visit for a while, knowing it had a reputation for quality and a unique culinary style—and I’m glad I finally did.
The space is even more impressive in person than in photos. It’s a two-level restaurant, with one floor featuring high ceilings and plenty of natural light, and the other offering a more intimate, enclosed atmosphere. Both have their own charm, depending on the kind of dining experience you’re looking for.
The food was excellent. One of the highlights for me was a beautifully prepared ceviche that featured three different types of seafood—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Although I usually lean toward simpler flavors and had some hesitation about Peruvian cuisine being too sophisticated for my taste, the dishes here were surprisingly well-aligned with my palate.
The service was also top-notch—professional, attentive, and welcoming. As for the pricing, I found it quite reasonable given the quality of the food, ambiance, and overall experience.
If you’re curious about Peruvian cuisine or looking for a refined but approachable restaurant in the city, I’d definitely recommend giving...
