Maine | A Round-Up of Restaurant Finds 🦞🫐

Eating lobster in Maine in summer is a must! The seafood here probably shines most for its freshness – I tried spots in Portland and Bar Harbor this trip, and not a single one disappointed. Total win! ➡️ Portland: Eventide Oyster Co. 5⭐️ I only ate two meals in Portland, and both were here! The oysters are super fresh – not too salty, with a sweet aftertaste, and the sauces are really unique too. But the main reason I went back (yes, I had to double down) was their clam bake – it’s the big steamer pot in the photo! The clams are absolutely mouthwatering; I’m still craving them while writing this. The only tiny downside? The prices are a bit steep. ➡️ Bar Harbor: Most people visit Maine for Acadia National Park, so I ate quite a few meals in Bar Harbor! Atlantic Brewing Company 4⭐️ This spot is right on the way into Bar Harbor. The food is just regular American BBQ, but it wins for huge portions and great value – the giant sampler platter in the pic is only 21🔪! The real star, though, is their blueberry soda – it’s so good. Later, I noticed lots of other restaurants serve blueberry soda from here (for a higher price, of course). Grab bottles to take with you! I stocked up and bought four – no regrets. 🫐🥤 Side Street Cafe 3.5⭐️ A downtown spot, close to Acadia. The food I got was pretty average, but its biggest plus is that it’s easy to grab and go. I picked up food here to eat on the way to watch the sunset. The other dishes on the menu don’t look very cost-effective, and there was a long line too – just an fyi! 😅 Choco-Latte Cafe 4⭐️ A great breakfast spot, but it’s always packed. Pro tip: order online ahead for pickup! I loved their chocolate latte, but if you’re not a fan of cinnamon, steer clear – it’s a key note here. ☕️ Lompoc Cafe 4.5⭐️ My second favorite spot of the whole trip! All four dishes I ordered were delicious. The Dijon Mussels (mussels in a spicy mustard sauce) come with garlic bread – perfect for sopping up the sauce. The Crab Toast has sweet green peas mixed in, which was a surprisingly amazing combo. For mains, I got the lamb shawarma and chicken burger – the fried chicken in the burger was super crispy! 🍔 Mount Desert Island Ice Cream 4⭐️ I picked this ice cream shop totally randomly, but their hojicha (roasted green tea) flavor was surprisingly fantastic! 🍦 The Travelin Lobster, LLC 4.5⭐️ Also on the way into Bar Harbor, and way more cost-effective than spots downtown. It’s perfect for grabbing lunch after morning hikes in the national park – only a 10-minute drive, then you can head back to explore more. Delicious lobster doesn’t need much seasoning to shine! If you have time, go for the Lobster Dinner and enjoy a whole big Maine lobster by yourself. 🦞 #MaineLobster #AcadiaFood #LobsterForDays #RestaurantReview
