Maine | Lobster 🦞 & Blueberry 🫐 Season Part.1

We took a Juneteenth break from New York to go camping ⛺️ in Acadia National Park, Maine. I’m writing this food & travel guide before July 4th for anyone who might need it! We drove 🚗 from New York to Acadia, and stopped for a night near Portland to rest halfway—otherwise, the drive would’ve been too tiring to handle! Portland Chapter: 🦞 Becky’s Diner 🌟🌟🌟(🌟) This is a classic American diner. The food is decent but nothing extraordinary, though the portions are huge. We ordered a lobster roll and a lobster omelette, each costing $30. Personally, I think you could skip this and go straight to ISF Trading (the two spots are near each other). 🐟 ISF Trading 🌟🌟🌟🌟(🌟) This place is pretty popular on Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book). The owner is from Northeast China! Their seafood is all fresh, with options like sweet shrimp and uni (sea urchin) sashimi. We didn’t buy much because we’d just eaten—we only got some uni and a bowl of rice. Even after sitting out for an afternoon, it still tasted great! Note: They only sell seafood, but there’s a small staff canteen upstairs where you can microwave your food. If you don’t mind the casual setup, you can enjoy a sashimi meal there! Skip this if you don’t like raw seafood. 🥛 Pine Tree Seafood & Produce Co. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This is a grocery store we passed on the way to Portland, near our Airbnb. They also have super fresh seafood and lobster rolls—we want to try their lobster roll next time if we get the chance! (Sadly, we didn’t get to taste it this trip.) What we did love: their strawberry milk and blueberry milk! They were so good that we even made a special trip back later to return the glass bottles… and buy another cup. The taste is similar to Liziyuan milk drinks from China, though it might feel a bit sweet by the last sip. Also, their blueberry pie is a must-try! It has a hint of cinnamon. I usually don’t like cinnamon, but here it’s perfectly balanced—totally enjoyable. The blueberry filling isn’t the cloyingly sweet kind you often get in American desserts; it’s delicious and fragrant. Highly recommend! 🦞 Soleil When we visited Portland, the city was having a rainbow-themed event 🌈, so we didn’t get to explore this spot much. But it’s a cute little shop selling fun (cultural & creative gadgets/souvenirs)—worth a look if you’re in the area! #Maine #Acadia #AcadiaNationalPark #BostonLobster #Boston #FourthOfJuly #PortlandFood #BarHarbor #FoodRecommendations
