Maine Day Trip: Portland & Kennebunkport 🌊🦞

On the way to Acadia National Park, we stopped by Kennebunkport — Maine’s wealthiest seaside town — and Portland — the state’s largest city. 🏘️ Kennebunkport is full of charming gift shops and seafood restaurants with fantastic flavors. Portland surprised us — better than expected with great food and a relaxed vibe! We stayed at Holiday Inn Portland by the Bay in downtown — super convenient location. 🏙️ 📸 Last photo: The restaurant where Taylor Swift filmed her MTV video at Cape Porpoise! 🎤 Kennebunkport Highlights 🏖️ Walker’s Point – The Bush family’s vacation estate 🏠 (with two Secret Service cars parked outside!). Ocean Avenue – Scenic drive along the coast. Kennebunk Beach – Pretty beaches worth a quick stop. Parsons Way – Beautiful waterfront path. Goose Rocks Beach – Quiet and serene. The Clam Shack – Ate here twice! 🦞 Weekend lines can be long (30+ people), but weekdays are better. Wedding Cake House – Maine’s most photographed home 🎂 (inspired by Milan Cathedral!). Portland Highlights 🏗️ Old Port – Historic district with cobblestone streets. Eastern Promenade – Great views! Rent a bike and ride along. 🚲 Commercial Street – Bustling with shops and eateries. Portland Observatory – Historic maritime tower. Bug Light Park – Perfect for sunsets! 🌅 Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse – Charming and photogenic.
