Maine Food Guide (Part 1)|$20 Uni Heaven 🎉

Summer’s almost here — the perfect time to visit Maine! ✌️ Let me recommend some must-try spots for seafood 🦞, lobster, and insanely affordable uni 😍 1️⃣ Becky‘s Diner Our first stop in Portland! Huge portions + great prices — ~$42 per person. Lobster Roll 🦞: Packed with nearly half a pound of Maine lobster! Meat is firm and satisfying — mostly from the body 🤤 Not like those mini NYC versions. One roll will fill you up! Lobster Omelet 🍳: Made with claw meat — good, but not as epic as the lobster roll. Choose the roll if you can only pick one! Fried Fisherman's Platter: Fried fish 🐟, shrimp 🦐, scallops, clams. Unfortunately, the fish was bland and the clams weren’t very fresh. Not recommended 😣 Clam Chowder: Tastes just like canned soup from the supermarket 😐 Blueberry Pancake: Made with fresh blueberry sauce — totally homemade vibe! 🥞 ✅ In short: Just go for the lobster roll — you won’t regret it! Everything else is just okay. 2️⃣ Hobsons Wharf Seafood Market (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!) Right next to Becky’s Diner — looks like an empty factory, but just walk in! Don’t hesitate! This place was the highlight of our trip 🎯 A hidden gem that processes uni for high-end sushi restaurants in NY and Boston. $30 for a box of uni — SO sweet and fresh!! $20 for salmon sashimi — incredibly rich and fatty 🍣 Squid so tender it melts in your mouth 🦑 All top-quality! You can eat right there — they provide soy sauce, wasabi, and utensils. Trust me, the uni is absolutely worth it. Even better than many high-end NYC sushi spots! You have to go!! 🤟 3️⃣ Street And Co. Mussels Provencal: Fresh mussels cooked in white wine — no fishy taste! $18 for a huge portion 👍 Seared Local Cod: Just okay 🐟… bland and “wooden” tasting (classic issue with local white fish). Not recommended 👎 Lobster Diavolo: Lobster pasta 🍝 — lobster was mediocre, not much meat, and the sauce was too salty. More about the family-style vibe than the food 🙃 We also got a dozen oysters — fresh but very small 🦪 Overall: ~$75 per person. The downtown area is lively at night, but maybe try another spot next time 😅 #MaineFood #Portland#UniLover #SeafoodHeaven 🦞
