Maine Independence Day 4-Day & 3-Night Trip
Day 1 ✈️ Portland Day 2 ⛵ Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse On the way to Acadia NP, you need to walk along a long stone path to reach the lighthouse, which takes about an hour round trip. 🦞 Stewman's Lobster Pound A famous seafood restaurant. We ordered the "Lobster Experience" set meal, which includes a whole lobster, mussels, and blueberry pie with ice cream. The lobster is very fresh, and the lobster roll is also good, but the clams are not recommended as they are full of sand. 🏞️ Acadia NP Drive along Park Loop Rd and visit the following spots in sequence: Sand Beach ➡️ Thunder Hole ➡️ Monument Cove ➡️ Otter Cliff ➡️ Cadillac Mountain (to watch the sunset). Remember to book tickets in advance on recreation.gov. 🎇 Bar Harbor We happened to catch Independence Day, and there was a fireworks show at 9 pm. There were so many people that day—it took us nearly 20 minutes to find a parking spot, so we had to drive back to the hotel and walk there. 🛏️ Atlantic Eyrie Lodge Day 3 ⛰️ Beehive Trail We arrived at the famous Beehive Trail at 9 am. The sections with handrails are not difficult, but the challenging parts are the vertical rock climbs without handrails—remember to wear non-slip shoes. After coming down, we walked a little further to The Bowl, and the view there is fantastic. 🚶 Jordan Pond Path Trailhead It was crowded everywhere, and we couldn’t find a parking spot at all. We parked at the Bubbles Divide Trail parking lot, and then walked an extra 0.5 miles to reach Jordan Pond. If you have the energy, you can also stop by Bubble Rock to check it out. 🦞 Frenchman Bay Lobster Rolls Five-star rating! It’s the most delicious lobster roll we had in Maine—definitely worth waiting in line for. Although Google Maps said it closes at 3:30 pm that day, it actually closed at 3 pm. Friends who want to eat here, remember to go early. The restaurant is small and has no indoor seating. Sitting on the grass opposite, eating while enjoying the sea breeze and drinking blueberry soda, was such a chill experience. After eating, we wandered around Bar Harbor—what a beautiful town! 🍦 CJ's Big Dipper An excellent ice cream shop that only accepts cash. ⛰️ Camden Overlook You can drive up the mountain to overlook Camden, and the view is nice. Camden itself is beautiful, but we arrived very late; it should be great to walk around during the daytime. 🦞 Peter Ott's on the Water An average seafood restaurant. 🛏️ Hilton Garden Inn Freeport Downtown Day 4 🥪 Isabella's Café & Bakery Typical "white people food" (simple, classic Western-style casual meals). 🛍️ L.L.Bean Flagship Store & Freeport Outlets The iconic big boot sculpture was under maintenance, but we still had a great time shopping. ⛵ Portland Head Light A classic lighthouse check-in spot in Portland—it’s very beautiful, and there’s also a small museum nearby. 🦞 Bite into Maine A food truck located in Fort Williams Park. There was always a line, but the wasabi-flavored lobster roll is quite unique—we loved it! ⛵ Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse Another lighthouse that requires walking along a stone path, taking about 30 minutes round trip. 🍦 Mount Desert Island Ice Cream Before leaving, we wandered around downtown Portland. This ice cream shop is pretty good. ✈️ Bye #Maine #Lobster
