Maine Trip: Food & Souvenir Highlights!
This trip to Maine had a few little mishaps, but even more pleasant surprises—and I want to share those surprises with you all! It’s also a nice record for myself if I want to revisit someday. 🎁 Souvenir Recommendations 📍 Acadia Shop This souvenir store has the most comprehensive selection—it’s perfect for buying gifts to take home for others or keeping for yourself. Adorable cushions printed with Maine icons: lobsters 🦞, blueberries 🫐, pine trees 🌲, moose 🫎, and even lobster trap patterns… you’ll be spoilt for choice! An overwhelming variety of blueberry jams, maple syrups, and blueberry chocolates—all classic Maine treats. 📍 The Small Shop Next Door Prices here are more affordable, and they have exclusive large lobster fridge magnets—a fun, unique souvenir you won’t find everywhere. 🍽 Food Recommendations 📍 The Highland Roller Their lobster roll is delicious! The bread is slathered with butter and toasted to perfection—crispy on the outside, and incredibly fragrant. The tender lobster meat inside pairs perfectly with the buttery bread—total comfort food. 📍 Tuscan Brick Oven Bistro Don’t miss their grilled squid, chicken pasta, and the flatbread loaded with pepperoni and banana peppers 😎—it’s packed with bold, savory flavors that hit the spot! 👀 A Fun Observation Interestingly, I didn’t see any Asian faces in these two restaurants—not sure if the flavors just don’t match most Asian palates? In Portland (Maine), though, I noticed many Asians prefer going to ISF (the seafood wholesale spot) instead. On a side note: When I was researching food for this trip, I was already salivating at the thought of eating my favorite rice noodle rolls (cheong fun) and all kinds of Chinese food. But when I arrived, I realized my mistake—turns out all those delicious Chinese dishes I was craving are in Portland, Oregon, not Portland, Maine! Oops! #MaineTravel #PortlandMaineFood #BarHarborFood
