Malbec Pasadena | A Feast for the Senses 🍖🔥

OpenTable recommended this Argentine spot to me—and wow, what a satisfying meal! Definitely did not disappoint. 😋 👉🏿 Appetizers 1️⃣ Ceviche 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 So good! The tuna and octopus had no fishy taste—just a perfect balance of tangy and spicy flavors. The tuna melted in my mouth, while the octopus had a nice chew, plus some crunchy fried corn(?) for texture. Absolutely layered and delicious! 🐙🌽 2️⃣ Empanada 🌟🌟🌟🌟 A real treat, not a trap! Fried pastry filled with seasoned meat—we chose the beef, and it was juicy and flavorful. Pretty large though—maybe share if ordering other starters. 🇦🇷🥟 3️⃣ Chorizos 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Not sure what to pick? The server suggested the classic trio: a chorizo-style beef sausage, regular beef, and chicken. Not too fatty, but a bit salty—great for sharing among five people. 🌭👌 👉🏿 Main Courses 4️⃣ Ribeye 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Served sizzling on an iron plate. We ordered medium-rare, but it kept cooking a bit—still pink inside with a slightly charred outside. If you like it juicy, go for rare and eat it fast! 🥩🔥 5️⃣ Lamb Chop 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Came on the same plate as the ribeye—about four chops. My non-lamb-loving friend noticed a mild gaminess, but as a lamb enthusiast, I thought it was perfectly balanced with a slightly sweet sauce. Could rival any French lamb dish! 🍖✨ 6️⃣ Arroz con Mariscos (Seafood Rice) 🌟🌟🌟 Available in single or double portions. Loaded with seafood and tasty, but as a paella snob, I felt the rice was a bit undercooked and the dish was slightly too wet. Still decent though! 🥘🦐 👉🏿 Desserts We tried the Budin de Pan (bread pudding), crepes, and crème brûlée. All very sweet! 🍮💖 • The crepes would be better with less chocolate sauce—otherwise, it’s overwhelming. • The bread pudding was nice, but the fig and raisin topping was super sweet. • The crème brûlée had a light lemon and cinnamon note—rich but refreshing after a few bites. 👉🏿 Overall Cozy atmosphere, great for a drink, not too noisy. 🍷✨ The food was solid—I wish I had room to try the bone marrow and mussels! For five people, we ordered five empanadas, chorizos, ceviche, and four main dishes—around $60-70 per person before tip and drinks. 💵 PS: The lighting is pretty dim (and my photo skills are limited 😅), but check their Instagram for better food pics!
